How world gold coin melt value works
Every classic world gold coin — Sovereign, Krugerrand, 50 Peso, 20 Franc, 20 Mark — has a published gross weight and fineness that determines its pure gold content (AGW). Multiply AGW by the gold spot price and you get melt value. This tool stores correct specs for the most-traded issues so you can value a stack quickly at current spot.
How it works
- 1Coins are grouped by country — pick the row that matches your coin's year and type.
- 2Type quantity next to each issue. Sidebar shows running totals by country plus a grand total.
- 3Per-coin melt value updates the instant spot moves.
- 4Use the spot override field to model a price scenario.
